Downhill Mountain Bike Video (Testing)

We've been discussing the possibilities of allowing videos to be posted to MakeTunes, so I've been doing some testing. Here is a test video of me and my friend downhill mountain bike riding. I'm wearing the helmetcam, and my friend is riding ahead of me. (I made the background music in Reason for those who are interested).

Please let me know whether the video loaded ok for you, did you notice how much better the quality was than Youtube vids? etc...

Ya man it loaded up nicely.It paused for a couple of seconds to finish loading up but it was nice man.That looked like it was a real exciting ride too bro.When you said down hill I didn't know you ment down the side of a F-ing mountain.Looked dangerous but fun.Keep up the thrill man.

Haha yeah man wait till you see what happens later that day ;) The above video was like the first run of the day, so we were slow and just warming up, and then on consecutive runs we get faster and faster, until....

I'll try and post another vid later today.

Ok, so lets get the video testing moving... does anyone have a music-related video of their own that they'd like to test for me?

The video hosting service I'm testing is Revver - It must be your own video, *and* your own audio - they're very strict on this... they actually rejected this video when I first uploaded it, because they thought I was using commercial music! I quickly explained to them who I was and that we make music here, which they were fine with.

So, if you've got a video of your gig, funky dance moves, or an original music video etc, let me know and you can take part in the MakeTunes video tests :) (I might even put your vid on the front page if you're lucky!)

I should add that all you'll need to do if you want to share your video, is make a free account at Revver, and upload your original video.

There is a delay while they manually check the video, and then it will be okayed for release. At that stage, just email me the link to your video and I'll look at posting it to MakeTunes.

Because the video is tagged as yours, you can earn money from the advertising which is displayed at the end of the video. This will still be the case when your video is posted on MakeTunes.

Also, when uploading your video that has your music in it, you might want to mention the fact that you wrote the music yourself, as otherwise they might mistake it for commercial music and reject it.

So if I am dancing to some other persons music with glow sticks I can't upload it on there?If not I can make some more videos,but most of the videos I have are of me dancing at parties and events to Dj's mixing.

Hmmm I *think* that will be ok... only one way to find out, they manually check every video thats uploaded, but surely they must allow a live event video to be posted?

My understanding of their rules is that they don't want people uploading either copyright videos, OR original home videos with a commercial soundtrack playing over the top... the record companies are cracking down on that sort of thing on all the video sharing sites.

I'd say you might as well try, and see what they say - I'd be surprised if they reject a live event video.

Matt I only just now watched the video and it looks like a lot of fun. I am like Bizzerk though. When you had been talking about downhill riding I thought you were talking about a street that goes downhill with traffic and stuff. The bare nature calls though man and it looks like a lot of fun bro, good music too man. I like the concept on the beat.

Yeah haha I guess I forget probably the majority of people have very little idea of what downhill mountain biking involves, which is why I love the helmetcam - such a great way to show anyone what its like to zoom down a mountain :)

I have my Amazing Grace Video uploaded and awaiting approval. THen I will send ya the link. It is a video containing my whole eulogy and I am dressed in a Dress Suit(which I would NEVER EVER be caught dead in) ..after the eulogy I sing Amazing Grace to an organ. It is hard to hear the words exactly , and is a bit muffled, but you will have to keep in mind that it was recorded by my sister-in-law Flossie, using a digital camera of her own. She was kind enough to jet it over to me. My oldest daughter likes to watch it. I do too. It will really give people here a chance to see what I really look like, and see me sing as well. A live performance by SoleMySole... I will keep ya posted. :0)
