Loopmasters Hiphop Loops CD Review

If there's one thing that's going to get my foot tapping before I know what's happening, it's a hiphop track with a bit more to it than 27" bling rims and a gold $ chain. Sourcing good quality loops and samples is therefore a must. Today I'll be looking at Loopmasters hiphop loops cd, HipHop Progressions.

In the last few years I've produced several hiphop tunes, all in a style which I like to think is, well, unique, usually featuring loops and samples to some degree.

As a hiphop producer, and as a listener of hiphop beats, I quickly tire of generic hiphop loops, and seek to bring in some of my other favorite hiphop music production elements, such as overlaying interesting guitar melodies or deep grinding bass - one aspect of my first love drum n bass which I've found hard to shake!

I was hopeful that Loopmasters latest hiphop loops cd, Hiphop Progressions, would come complete with a wide variety of sounds, loops, and - perhaps most of all - not devoid of soul.

Thankfully I was not to be disappointed, and as I hunted through the folders full of hiphop loop goodness, I found hiphop guitar samples, strings, turntable samples and more.

I've always been a fan of layering a lot of different sounds and loops in my hiphop music production, giving a much richer and varied soundscape than your average "crunk in the trunk" hiphop production - a hiphop style that I certainly don't discount, but do tire of hearing endlessly.

All in all, I'd say that a hiphop loops cd like Loopmasters Hiphop Progressions most definately has the potential to contribute to your hiphop production - especially when combined with your own sampling & looping, as different hiphop producers inevitably produce music with a different style and flavor.
