Novation Remote 25 USB MIDI Controller

Over the last few years, as computer based studios have evolved, there has been a revolution in compact USB / MIDI controllers.

The Novation Remote 25 MIDI controller is just such a piece of studio hardware. In addition to the semi-weighted keyboard, it features an astounding range of extras, such as 8 Trigger Pads (for sample triggering etc, along the same lines as the MPC pads), 8 rotary potentiometers, 8 sliders, 8 rotary encoders and 24 switches - all of which are programmable.

It also has an X/Y Touchpad!

That's a bucketload of assignable controls, which is made a whole lot easier to automatically program with the help of the Automap function. This has pre-programmed controller setups for several popular studio software packages, including Reason 3, Cubase SL/SX 3, Nuendo 3, Logic Pro 7 and Ableton Live 5 (at time of writing - more presets on the way soon apparently).

There are also 2 LCD screens running along the top of the unit, which display all the relevant details.

I'd say the Novation Remote 25 MIDI controller would definitely find a useful place in most home studios.
