What happened, man? :-)
Good drum sound. Did you play it live or do you use any drum samples - if so maybe you could tell me which ones you use because I think they sound really natural (you can send me a message too, I will remain silent all over :-))

Thanxx and cheerz from another rocker

Shame I don't have my long dreads anymore ;) Can't thrash proper without em hehe

Full credit for the effort though man, phew, that was some intense performance right there. Of course it wouldn't be right to listen to it at full FULL volume without half a bottle of Jim Beam in ma belly ;) As it was, its coming up to 3am and the neighbors would have got at least a reasonable taste of Automatic Bullshit lol. Take that scumsuckers!

Hahaha cheers for the comments, guys.

Julian - The drums are live, I have a setup at home and record them whenever I can. They sound a million times better than any samples.

The absolute BEST drum program I have ever used though, which I still use sometimes, is called BFD. It's a rewire program and you can step-edit the midi, or use your midi keyboard or other device to play in real-time. The latter sounds better because a different sample is used for each different velocity, so it ends up sounding scarily like the real thing. And they aren't just direct mic samples, there's overhead mic samples, room mic samples, and PZM mic samples, of which you can change mic position to suit your preferred room sound. There's heaps of different kits too, or you can create your own. I highly recommend it. I'll upload a track I did with it so you can hear it yourself.

Haha, Matt - I had to tell my flat-mates not to worry if they heard screaming coming from my room ;) It's quite strange standing there with headphones on knowing that all they can hear is you yelling at the top of your lungs!

Thanks guys!

Thanxx Todd,
cool if you can even play drums...
As for drum samples I have been using Joey Kramer´s samples and the "Drum Kit From Hell" so far. They are played at different velocities too, also with the overall micing on.
Anyway, I´m curious to check out your samples.

Oh, I know what it must be like recording vocals. I used to shout "Hey" for about 30 times - people must have thought I had gone crazy. It´s even worse if you add some screams without warning anyone before, hahaha...

I used to use drum kit from hell. It's good, but I found I had to fuck around too much to get it sounding how I wanted it.

Hehehe, doing vocals like that is fun, huh?

Yeah, you can really scare off the neighbors when you multiple track some "UUUUUAAAAAHHHs" or just some "FUCK YOUs" ...

Hey bro nice rock song. Extreme to say the least. That yelling hurt your voice any? I mean the next day did you wake up with it sore? I (being an MC) am curious. ANother great drum sound generator is EZ DRUMMER. THat is what I have used to make my last 10 tracks or so. THe drums just sound real. The vsti is over 700 meg of creating genius. I love to use it. Cheers! and great job bro!

Heavy stuff man. Cool intro song if this is for an album. Do you listen to any of that stuff like kyuss? Maybe you should check em out otherwise because they have a very cool distortion and wall of sound production on their albums.

sumgai's picture

Dude, I used to thrash the Kyuss. Now Queens of the Stoneage of course, who I am off to see this weekend with Smashing Pumpkins Woohoo! This song kinda pays homage to the days I used to play and listen to heaps of Hardcore.
