Caleb: A Tribute

  • Artist: Sole
  • Title: Caleb
  • Genre: Classical Inverted Techno
  • Year: 2007
  • Length: 8:04 minutes (9.24 MB)
  • Format: Stereo 44kHz 160Kbps (CBR)

If you go to myspace, Caleb is a victim of shaken baby disorder. This song I dedicate to him. He is still a baby. His life has already been hard but he has kicked back and fought for his life. Caleb? Dude! You rule and life hasn't been fair. My prayers go out to you and your family dude and it will be a while before you read this but just know that you aren't alone bro. Peace from Sole!
By the way guys and gals, sorry the song is so long. It was necessary for the techno interchange into the classical portion and everything must remain as is. I spent more time on this song then any other. Longer strectches where I would mess with it but then I would. This song came about through a 3 month stretch. I bid everyone peace! :oD

The whole intro is wonderful. I can't even come up with good words to describe it.

Very good composing Sole, I am very very impressed.

The beat isn't quite what I would have picked (4 on the floor doesn't sit well with me) but then again I wouldn't have been able to write such a song....

Badass track.

Thanks bro. A lot of time and effort into this one. I make all my tracks with four on the floor and piano roll in FL. Otherwise it is all too difficult for me. Thanks for the composing remark and the badass remark bro. Very uplifting :0P

What's four on the floor? Is piano roll an actual function or plug in or something in FL? That'd be fun to use.

This is a masterpeice, simply complicated and well done. Way to go. Your work is improving so much sole. I'd like to colab with you using my new symphonic instrument. You'll hear it soon... Too bad we'd have to do that in person though. Maybe that's a good thing. We both just have very busy lives, but you're only one state line away! It might happen one day!

Thanx DJ B!! I will check it out bro.

Wow Amittai! I am glad you liked it so much. You are right though, just one state away. DJ Bizz is in FL. All three of us are right near eachother compared to most of the other artists on maketunes. I would like to hear your new symphonic instrument. I read somewhere how you had gotten something cool to play with. Four on the floor means I set my measures and create my tracks based on a four step to a beat rythym and nothing more. I could split it done farter but it would be too time consuming. Piano Roll comes with every Fruity Loops program. It is a native piano note placement chart. Place the notes where you want them and then press play. I usually do this and then while playing what melody I laid down, lay some more down of different instruments. In this way I can get it just right. Piano roll eliminates the need for midi, although most of it all could be done live just not all at the same time.

Thanx Eugod :0D

When I say 4 on the floor I'm referring to the bass drum hitting on the beat every beat (in 4/4). Like house music.

roger that. The basis for techno. steady kick kick kick kick... and so on and so forth. Yeah, I naturally glide in that direction. Drives my wife nuts. That is why I did the big intro. Modern classical art if you will. Then I had to throw in a tangent. Seemed natural for it. I had thought you were referring to stretching the beat to 8/4 measures or 16th fourths. Like my friend Kane will do with his beats. I asked him why he was complicating things, but it is how he does it, Sorry about the misunderstanding. I had thought that is what you meant by four on the floor.

Excellent work bro i listened to the entire thing twice...

u know i spent 11yrs in the army, lost an eye in iraq and saw many people die, but nothing hits harder then having to bury a child. It was the hardest thing ever to witness and has given me a new look on life.

again excellent piece my brotha

The Sole's picture

Thanks man. Yeah you aint kidding about the burying the child being the saddest business there is. My wifes friend had a still born baby and she went to the funeral. THe whole business..the little casket ..everything, makes the stomach turn. SOnya and I had our first unborn die before the baby developed all the way and it is so hard. Now all we can do is thank God for what we have and move on and remember, because it is important never to forget, because it makes us who we have become, if not a little more sensitive to the softer side of things! Thanks for listening to this bro!
