Capricorn One - Let It Ride

  • Artist: Capricorn One
  • Title: Let It Ride
  • Year: 2008
  • Length: 4:42 minutes (8.68 MB)
  • Format: Stereo 44kHz 257Kbps (VBR)

Between working on my one and only electronic track, and the collabos, I found time for this. I chopped a orchestral string loop and threw a random guitar loop in A minor into the verse. It fit quite nice. All the rest is me.

EDIT: Fixed the "steam" sample, reworked the piano bassline, and added a little more mastering work. I made the highs pop out more so they could be better heard through the bass, and gave it a slightly tinny quality to give ita 70's old school flair.

Those strings are great and work really well with everything else that's going on, it's crying for some great vocals! Hot one bro! It's pretty cool as an instrumental too ;)

cool beat , just didnt like the breath instrument or whatever in the hook. it sounds off time anyways. i would cut that and try to make the track more explosive or in your face. Also make more distinction between the verse and the hook. Maybe some more breakdowns. The intro was the shit!!!! i thought of some take over the world shit when i heard that. Overall you been puttin up some real nice beats cap1.

I love the "steam" samp! I could realign them a little... I've been playing with the positioning of them since I started this. The hook and verse are quite different, i think. That's where I put the guitar, flipped the piano to a west coast rhythm, chopped the strings, etc... I could make the drums a little different, and maybe tweak the bass (which is just the rhodes piano played at the low end and eq'ed) to go up a pitch her and there... just the little things... but how's the levels, and mastering and such, sounding? That's what I'm wondering.

Thanks for checking it ya'll!

levels all sound nice , the verse and the hook sound like just a long verse because they dont switch enough, thats all i was sayin .

I gotta agree with slightly with KD. The low bass needs to variate. That same note keeps going through the whole track just about. The rest leave as is and you will hear something totally different. The hook you might leave that low note in but for the verse sections I would change it up. It would be more in your face. ON a side note the mastering and levels seem great and the drums are sound. I would just work on that low bass. Fire shite mane

The low note started out in the elec. piano, if you listen it's part of the piano line in the hook AND the bass, but you're right, I need to vary it a little in the verse. I'm on top of that. Thanks sole! I did the mastering in audition, but I saved the settings, so all I have to do is replace the wav and the mastering should stay the same... With all those different frequencies in this, mastering was a pain, and that's why I was questioning it. Glad it sounds good!

Def track Cap. The intro is ill. I love the sax/trumpets and the way the piano accompanies it. Funky track for sure. At a point I felt I was in a cowboy scene with some west coast gangstas spliffin some chronic. LOL

No sax/brass... Piano, strings, london choir, guitar. Thanks for the listen... The original was still rough, but this is pretty final. Some Clint Eastwood smokin on an Eastwood, huh? I like it! (An Eastwood is a natural leaf blunt by the way)

I say it's genius.. my humble opinion :) man I love this! It's wild!

Awesome track man... For such a short hook (the strings sample) to work in a song nearly 5 mins long without boring the listener to death takes some serious producership... Hats off to you!

Man, do you really pump out like 2-3 songs a WEEK? I'm going well if I can finish one in a month! Your brain must be like a 24 hour car production line... all the parts go in one ear..manufactured somewhere in the middle.. then dropped out the other side in a completed state! :)

It's the only benefit to my OCD and ADD... ;p Nah, I just get in this groove, and can't stop. But there are times where I'm one-a-monthing it... Sometimes that creative bottle neck can last two or three months. But I'm in that groove right now, I'm just getting distracted by dumb shit! Production line.... lmfao! Like tiny little robots in my brain.... ok.. that sounds schizo! X-]
