Yeah I'm starting to figure that out. This week was all about Eq's and filters mainly. Learned alot this week though. I think you'll be pretty impress with the next two tracks I'll be putting up soon. One I finished and then started over and the other one, I spent like 22 hours doing just the beat and have changed my mind about the bass and melody six times so far! It's I ronic how learning new things allways manages to make me feel stupid!lol The main reason why I allways over did it on tracks in the past was becuase I've allways been obsessed with being that dude who comes up with a sound that no one has done before. Stupidly enough, that's also the reason why I allways put off learning how to do things the right way becuase I thought that if I figured everything out on my own by trying differant things and listening to the way differant things sound,then mabye I would end up doing somthing no one has done before. That was really dumb of me though,becuase I would have progress alot faster
if I had just did some research and learned the right way. I did pick up some really valuable skill along the way though,for example,when I'm using a Piano roll I don't have to push the key to make sure I'm on the right note any more also I spent my first year using a drum machine and a sampler,so I've got a fair amount of skill with those.
I'm almost embarassed to tell you how much time I've put in so far,but I'll tell you anyway. I'll be three years old in the spring,and I'm totally not exagerating at all but I havn't put in less than 35 hours in a week and thats the bare minimum. When I'm inbetween jobs,like I am now I typicaly work non stop From 8am to 4am every single day unless I've to leave the house but that's hardley ever. I havn't had a girlfreind since January becuase she started trying to talk me out of spending so much time on music so I dumped her ass! I've made up my mind that I'm not dating anyone unless by some mirical I meet a producer or DJ chick, but I've never met any and I don't know anyone out here in C-ville V.a,moved from the Boston a little over a year ago,so far I have met any girls out there that can be distinguished from the next one. They all seem to be kind of standard issue down here.
If my only money making skill wasn't culinary arts I would totaly agree with you on the imigration thing, they making it really hard to make as much money as I should doing somthing as life engulfing as cooking. No offence Amigo's! man I've got to stop getting carried away this these ten chapter comments!lol
