Equinox

This is a John Coltrane song performed by my classmates and myself for a recording/editing project.
Recorded with SSL 4000G+ mixing console.
Edited by me... And an attempt at mixing by me.

I played the drums, there was also a guitar (my Les Paul and Fender 112 amp), bass guitar, and keys. The four of us played it live in the studio, tracking to separate tracks in Pro Tools. 8 mics on the drums, but I took the hi hat mic out of the mix, so 7 left: AKG D112 inside the kick, AKG C414B XLII outside the kick, Shure SM57 on the snare, a Sennheiser MD421 for each tom (2), and two Geffel M300s for overheads. The guitar amp was in an isolated booth with a Shure SM57 on it. The bass was DIed, and the keyboard went through the line in (caught some serious static on it, but since it was an editing project we let it slide).

PS - the drum set provided for us is a TOYS-R-US 4-piece kit!!! Lol, it's a kid's toy, in an SSL/Digidesign studio...
