SOLE - Open Source Of Sole

  • Artist: SOLE
  • Title: Open Source Of Sole
  • Genre: Experimental/Industrial/Rock
  • Year: 2008
  • Length: 3:36 minutes (8.25 MB)
  • Format: Stereo 44kHz 320Kbps (CBR)

This is my submission to the comepetition that doesn't count because ...well, I am the giver of gifts to the winner of the competition. Adam Zwakk's song "Barely Breathing" was my choice and specifically, I used the beat -n- bass portions of the song and added the rest of the stuff myself from my own creativity. I tweaked some nexus sounds with the vsts known as camelspace and also camelphat3. The effects were created from snare sounds that I reversed and reversed polarized. I figured I would explain a tiny bit about what was done to go into the making of this one. Enjoy another one from the Sole man.
PS> I started it at 1 oclock in the afternoon yesterday and intermittanly worked on it until 1 oclock in the morning this morning. I have only heard and mastered this song with just my headphones. I would wait until my wife got up so I can blare it from my speakers or car but I don't wanna wait. I want people to be able to enjoy it NOW. Hopefully it doesn't sound like shite. Cheers man!

Cool track bro I just got camel space it's a great tool and you are using to the fullest!
Plus I'm glad you posted this that way people get a feel and an exaple of what they need to do in the contest!
Excellent, Excellent track!

Nice Industrial.....is that guitar I hear or just a really distorted keyboard with a dynamic filter plug (camel phat perhaps?).

Thanks both of you guys and you BOTH are right. DJ Willie F I did want to show an example of what it is all about. You got it bro! Yeah use Camel Space to whatever you can. It can really bring out some stuff. Alter entirely too if you aren't/are careful! :0)
Mortal Engines you are right as well. I used a arpeggio and created the piano key pattern using the arpeggio. Then came Camel Phat, and ultimately to cap off the unique sound that then made, I applied some Amplitube to it. Original sound. Sounds nice huh? Almost like the real deal. I kept it laid back from the rest because a little louder would've been overpowering.

yeah i agree vox would be a sweet idea. but how did you get that glitchy distorty but not distorty haha high sound in the background at some parts? you know what i mean? hahaha

Adam YOu mean the thing that sounds like a alarm going off in a Bond Movie? LOL! It is funny how people perceive of sounds differently. All sounds though (except for snare rollups) were created using NEXUS, and then tweaked accordingly to the worlds of Camel Phat and Camel Space and Amplitube.

LOL! You bringing me up bro and showing respect man! YOu are a good guy Eugod! I will try my hand at chopping up the barely breathing mutlitrack pack. Since you are a beatnbass man... you want me to just concentrate on chopping the synth melodies? I should have something for you by tomorrow. I am gonna get drunk today and watch Deadwood.
As far as the dirty south synth loops I have never noticed about the dirty south thing unless you are referring to the buzzy instruments I love to use so much. I can make great melody loops though and will be more then happy to make a nice sample pack to use for whatever. I have promised Giechi Dan the same thing and have procrastinated on this. Melody is my strong suit though and it comes naturally enough. I can actually go through previously made tracks and get a buncha melody loops that loop perfectly playing over and over and intertwined with other melody synths(this is my secret). I am happy and honored that you would ask me bro. Stay tuned. Do you mind sharing with Giechi? I will get that together.
