This is it people! Within the last three songs I have crossed some major genres. I went from hiphop/trance to experimental/rock to now. This is one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever heard. Period. This is the prettiest and saddest song combination I have ever made! There were lots of challenges. My friend Josh Moorehead, had doodled with the guitar when he was at my house to make the song for his girl, which I mastered for him. This was a little sample of his pickwork, which I exhumed out of the practice recording, mine to do with what I wanted. I cut and duplicated several times until I had a nice repeating loop sample. I cleaned the holy crap out of it. Then I laid it down in FL. I never know how to find tempo rates with FL and always do it by ear. I narrowed it down to 127. Unfornutaely the looping had natural gaps where Josh had carried certain notes further. This resulted in no systemic adding of synths. I had to really really work with timing. The synths chosen were of the orchestra variety, and once I started I became forever in love with this song. I hope you do the same. A gift from The Sole.

Wow this was definitely worth all the work you put into it Sole I enjoyed it! I got more of a "relax it's gonna be ok" feeling from it until about 3:00 minutes in then I really felt the sorrow so props on getting the great emotion across!

I know what you mean by trying to figure out tempos, I use ableton 7 and it takes care of the bpm for you automatically!

There is a way to do it will FL too but I cannot remember how. Rather then pull up the info on how to do it I just use my ear and sight(lining up the measures so they are done properly) and this does the trick. In this case though certain guitar notes carried longer and slowed the pace down to the milliseconds but this was throwing me off. Lot's of time on this one for sure. That and because I use a cheap mic it caused lots and lots of hiss and I had to tweak the guitar with about 12 different vst plugin tweaks in Adobe and FL to remove it as best as I could/Thanks man!

I think It ended up better with you matching tempo by ear because it adds that natural swing that you would get in a live recording so I'm glad you took the time!

I can agree with that one hundred percent. I sounds more pro and less systematic. That live feel as you've said. I really believe it is one of my best productions ever.

The future always holds possibilities though. I might leave it like it is though.

yeah you can get alot of shows anywhere with a live act man. You playin guitar or vocals or what? If u do i wanna hear 1 with no effects, well not any just no voice altering . I think that shit would be fresh man .

I hear ya bro. I will be acting and singing and playing keyboard. The show is about bringing vaudeville back. I have some songs downloaded here that are live. I will send you the links. There are about ten of them where there is no editing to my voice. I gotta get to bed but I will send you the links bro. I don't need editing to perform live. I have perfect pitch and it comes naturally. Although the tracks you have heard me perform have had tweaking to my vox... it isn't needed at all. Cheers man and I will jet the links your way. Do a search for "sole my girl' and "sole america the beautiful" and "sole knockin' on heaven's door" You will have to forgive me but for the 1st and the third search suggestion I was drunk. I was not only playing live without adaptation to my vox, but drunk in the process thereof. The new show I will have to act alot.... and play keyboard alot. Doin' it live the whole way. Peace bro! Just to tell you a little about the show... they will be advertising on the radio and on tv, and I will get a chance to go on the radio and talk about the show and they will have the '12th caller gets free tickets' shite and so on and so forth. IT WON't be a bar gig. It will be much bigger then that. I auditioned and was accepted for being part of the core group. I am happy.
