Ok, so technically it's not home studio specific, but I'm sure some of you will find this interesting to play around with. It's a simple little online sinewave synthesizer and 16 step sequencer! There goes your day ;)

You can come up with all sorts of tunes by just clicking on various points on the 16 step sequencer, which is always looping. Check it out!

Pretty cool, but its just one part of the AudioTool. Have you played with that? It's basically Proppelerheads Rebirth (You know before there was Reason... There was rebirth.) With a bunch of effects pedals you can add in, plus some merger spliters. I haven't figured it all out, but I'm making noise at work when I'm bored! It's so fun to play with! Check out AudioTool for real people!

That tool is based on the Yamaha Tenori-on. I'm a big fan of that thing. I also highly recommend the audiotool which offers some great old-school analogue setups with a bunch of 303s, 808s and effects. It's one of the best web based apps i've seen...
Yeah, and the audio tool is definitely Rebirth, I just opened my copy up for the first time in 3 years to play with it, and it's just like audiotool. And yeah the first thing I thought of with th Tone Matrix was the Tenori-On... Have you played with one yet? They got one setup at the Guitar Center by my house. Its a fun little $1000 toy. (sigh) Wish I was well-to-do so I could own one!

Nope never used one. Wish i had one but its a pretty expensive toy. Its always more fun to work with hardwares but if you try to make a setup similar to auditool your room will be pretty messed up as in the link below. By the way this is a f'n crazy staff working there....

Ahhh.... there's a difference... those are old school Modular synths... like a moog, but more homebrew and a lot more cables! I could run 303's 808's Tenori-ons, mixers and all that jazz on my kitchen tagble with the FX pedals under the table, and still have room for my coffee! That is a sick pic BTW! I would have chopped off my left pinky toe to be in that room! Alessandro Cortini?!? and Fruscianti!!??!! Mr. Cortini is the mod synth GOD!! He's the other half of NIN if you ask me... most people think that its all Trent, but its not, Cortini is the one on the synth 1/2 the time! That room alone, with all those pretty buttons and knobs, would have made me nut on the spot!

I see what you mean... But its still a lot of stuff compared to a notebook... I agree whatever you said on the picture i sent. Artists ranging from industrial to breakcore even rock collaborating with equipments ranging from tb303 to tenorion... that should be some crazy sh.te.
is there a minor pentatonic version of this??
killer
