Acid Pro 6 and VSTs

I am new in music production and I have acid pro 6 but where are the VST? are they built in acid pro? or do i need fruity loops? It would be nice if I have a video tutorial on acid pro to learn about acid pro.
Thanks.

Hi, I believe Acid Pro 6 ships with a custom version of the Kompakt Sampler VST, so you could install that, or use some free VSTs. You don't need FL Studio (fruityloops) to use VST's - all you need is a VST host capable program, like Acid Pro, Cubase, FL Studio, etc.

Once you've installed your VST, you then need to "load" it into your Acid Pro track, to be able to use it.

I'm not totally familiar with Acid Pro 6, but I'll see if I can find a guide on how to do this.

Once it's loaded into your track, you can then select it, and play some notes, recording a MIDI track for your VST. That MIDI track contains all the notes and associated details (eg how long you were holding down each note etc), and will play those notes back through your VST.

Ah here you go, I just found this in the Acid Pro 6 manual

The Soft Synth Input Port List displays the available soft synths in your project.

Choose the soft synth you want to use to send MIDI to the track. For more information, see Using soft synth controls on page 144

And this on how to add soft synths to Acid projects

1. Click the Insert Soft Synth button in the Mixer window. The Soft Synth Chooser dialog appears.

2. To add a DLS or VSTi soft synth, click the Soft Synths tab and choose an available synth from the list...

3. Click OK

It goes on to explain what to do if you cannot see the VST that you have installed:

If the VST instrument you want to use does not appear in the list, click VSTi Preferences. Fore more information, see Locating VST instruments on page 146

Hope that helps!

What do I need to be able to use VST Instruments?

How do I install a VST Instrument into my acid pro?

I am new so hope you don't mind to clarify specially for Grizzly VST.

Have you told Acid Pro where to look for VSTs?

You have to set the "Default VSTi folder" and the "Alternate VSTi folder" so Acid can scan and find them.

Its all under the VST Instruments tab

So far what has worked for me and downloading a bunch of VST's is to make a folder that i can extract all files into. that file has all the contents of every folder I ever downloaded pertaining to VST's. Aim the browse in your recording software to look there and that should see them all. I am using acid pro 6
