Akai Mpd24 and acid studio 7.0

I have recently purchasedand akai mpd24 midi device and I want to know how to make beats with it using Acid studio 7.0. Can anyone help me with assigning sounds to the pads? Will I be able to use the sounds from acid to make beats?

Please help. It would be greatly appreciated

Have you used VSTi's before?

You'll need to load a VSTi sampler into Acid, and that is what will let you load/swap samples etc. Then your mpd24 can be used to control your VSTi sampler, and the drum tracks etc you play on the mpds pads can be recorded as Acid midi tracks, and tweaked etc there.

I use the VST sampler NI Battery, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a solid sampler program.

If you want to get started right away with a free program, you might like to check out Grizzly.

As far as using Acids samples... once you've got a sampler VST running in Acid, you can load pretty much whatever wav audio samples you want into each sample bank.
