Would getting an iMac, or MacBook included with Logic Studio be a good choice to go with producing/recording? I have experience with FL Studio, and I've just grown tired with some of the limitations I have with it, so I've decided to go big. Sure, it will be pretty expensive, and I'm not really old enough to have that amount of money, but I'm working on it. lol. Help? =D
Also, I don't really have any hardware such as a MIDI keyboard or anything, so some suggestions on a good keyboard and mic would be nice. Thanks!

their are many controllers out there..it all depends what you are looking for. M audio has tonnes of them just check their website. ALso AKAI has a couple that are nice( i have the mpd 24 and an m audio keyrig49)..they work well with reason, cubase, fl studio...but i run off of pc..i heard logic is good, but never used it....
yeah...Mac is the way..just get an m-audio midi controller. I'm switching very soon since i just wasted my loot on another pc it'll take some time....unless you have someone who "LOVES" your dirty drawz use their credit...lmao...
I am all about Macs. I have an old G4 Powerbook and, while it is getting a little long in the tooth, I still love using it. As a matter of fact I get kinda paranoid about changing things up when I have a stable system (check out some of the other forum posts from guys who just upgraded to the "latest and greatest"). Frankly I still use a 5 year old Oxygen 8. I like it because it is so small that it doesn't need a stand. I just put it on top of my desk and then play it in my lap. The downside? As I want to flesh out arrangements I would like to have a little more range when trying to record my virtual Fender Rhodes and Hammond tracks.

my buddy has a mac and logic studio with pro tools..its the bomb...the sounds in logic ar awsome
Yeah, if you've outgrown FL, Logic Studio will be a perfect fit for you.
Good midi controllers are everywhere, name brand isn't that big of a deal with a controller... Just get the one that has a large enough keyboard for you and possibly some knobs, faders, and pad triggers...
As far as the mic is concerned, it depends on what you will be using it for. The best thing is to have a collection so you can use the proper mic for each purpose in your studio... But, if you're like me and most of us, money is the issue. Shure mics have great prices and they have kept up their military spec every since they developed audio electronics for the US Military... They make some rugged mics with combat tested construction. The Shure SM57 is the most widely used mic I know of for vocals, guitars, drums, fx, and more... And it's cheep. Great place to start!
A few other mic brands that have good prices and great sound:
AKG, Rode, MXL, Blue, Audio Technica
BTW, if you can push the limits a bit and grab a Macbook Pro instead of a Macbook you'll be glad you did.
