Hey Matt or anyone who can help me.I got my mic working all good, but for some reason it has a little static when I record with it.The mic is a dynamic mic and has a high grade pro low-noise cable.I don't know why it has that little bit of static. My vocals sound good, but the static makes them sound like crap in the track.

Adobe Audition 2 is what you need. There is Auto/click pop reduction, hiss, and noise reduction which can be use on every single vocal wave. Along with normalize and hard limiting. These things are a must and AA 2.0 delivers brotherman.

Cool bro I will give it a look.I figured acid would have something like that but I guess not.Unless I over looked it.I will check out adobe audition.Because I hate that damn hissing crackle sound.Like I said the mic sounds great untill I record with it.Thanks for the help bro.I figured maybe I had a loose connection or something.Or maybe I should have got the gold plated adaptor.lol

lol. Just remember I use a 56 dollar special ...for all my singing.... the software is the secret

I tried to download the demo of audition, but when I try to install it says I do not have the right processor. That shit really sucks. There aren't any real good vst's in fruity or acid to make them sound clear like I want them.

try audacity .... although I am not sure about the cleansing tools ..it is shareware and more likely to be usable. If nothing else you could always get you a motherboard/processor kit for like a hundred dollars. Here is something else to try. turn your volume input level down on your microphone. Go to control panel - sounds and audio devices- click the AUDIO tab-then click VOLUME under sound recording- and then click advanced.... you can lower your treble and bass intake levels. This might help some. YOu have to be right in front of the mic then. I wont just catch anything.

You could for the time being as well just send me you vocal waves and I will clean them and send them back to you. Temporary option. I don't mind.

DJBIZZERK's picture

Cool bro I will try that program.I will also look into the mother board processor thing. If worse comes to worse I will let you clean them up and just to let you know bro I appreciate that alot. Thanks for your help and info homie.

Hey man... this forum here is right up my alley. Also COOL EDIT PRO is what synchro uses ... it is a shareware version program and is basically adobe 1.5 .... but earlier version.... it has all the tools you need. Try it before getting a mbd / proc kit bro. You should be able to download it for free. To me it looks just like Adobe audition 1.5.

I tried Audacity and it works fine dude.It is just what I was looking for.To anyone else looking to make your vocals clear with out downloading a big program it works perfect. It has some bad ass plug ins that come with it.About 90 of them and the clip removal and noise removal. It is worth the download and is a small program.

Ya me too man I am glad you pointed me in that direction lol.Good thinkin Sole.I have a new mix that Inferno and I did tonight and all of the vocals and Fx vocals are ours. This track is all original down to the vocals. It is what I have been waiting for.I will put it on some time in the late morning.

cool man congratulations bro. I am about to upload the vocalized 'Sonya" ...it is kinda like NIN with the beat and I threw a twist in. THe vocals are fit for the song pretty good. Can't wait to hear your piece bro.

Hey man when I put the noise removal on the vocals.I select all of the wav file and then put on the noise removal and it removes alot of the noise, but it makes my vocals sound like they are on a phaser Why?I am trying to get them to sound normal and clear.

The Sole's picture

You have to do it less. .... you can't do it that much. Noise removal it is best to go with default settings. When tweaking my voice... I never change individual knobs. I go with the normal preset choice. IT works best in audacity. Just don't apply quieting tweaks in abundance. A little can go along way and sounds with be masked by other instrumentals.

Ok it is cool I got it straight now. Thanks again Sole.

whilst we are on the subject, just a tip, you can sometimes get crackle and interefernce on a microphone due to the placement of the cable, make sure your mic cable doesnt run over, around or past transformer power packs, extention cables, tv'c or monitors. electromagnetic interference is easily picked up through the cables. overhead strip lights can sometimes bleed over audio.

DJBIZZERK's picture

Cool jim I have it running right beside a power pack for storms and by other cables.Maybe I need to re run it.Thanks Jim I appreciate the tip I also found a great vst called the voxengo redunoise VST plug in and it is a great noise remocal and shaper. It is a cpu hog , but if you are recording them and then placing them it is alright.

Hi Bizzy buddy, yeah cool man, the way i route my cables is as follows: all electric cable, transformers, power adapters etc i having running across the floor, and all my audio, input and mic cables, and other audio cables are raised off the floor, this way i avoid humming and buzzing bleeding into the audio inputs...these plugins noise removal tools are very clever but im sure you agree its best not to get noise in the first place, even noise and humm lie within the audible spectrum with the rest of the sound, so if you have to remove hum and noise you are doing it at the risk of losing or at least dumming down the quality of other portions of your music...cheers dude

DJBIZZERK's picture

Yes you are right bro and the less noise I have to remove the better the vocals will sound. Thanks Jim I will run my wires that way.
