That's the latency, you can reduce it by changing the buffer level on your sound card settings.
I've never recorded with FL though, you might find you get better results with a dedicated recording program like Adobe Audition (that's what I use) or Sony Sound Forge etc.

I tought it had something to do with latency.
I use Cubase for my recordings, i was just experimenting with Fl studio.
Thnx 4 tha tip
If your Cubase records fine without any latency, its likely that FLstudio was just setup to use the wrong audio driver, instead of a much better performing ASIO driver if you have one (which I'd presume you would if Cubase records fine).
Good point, didn't think of that.

you can also try changing the buffer level in Fl Studio also. This might work as well as changing the buffer level on the sound card.
I wouldnt suggest recording audio into FL.
I'm a HUGE FL Fan..dotn get me wrong its my soul program.
However its pretty much a sequencer not a multi track program.
Id suggest exporting whatever you are recording to in FL as a wav file..and loading it up in a good but simple basic multitrack program like Adobe Audition, Acid, Cubase, even an old version of cake walk...
Dont export it as MP3..export it as a wav file. MP3s have a point 2 seconds of silience in the beggining..so if you record to an MP3..then when load the new audio file back into FL it will be slightly off because you recorded to something that was .2 seconds off...i found this out the hard way haha.
load up the wav from FL studio into your multitrack and
record your new audio tracks there. then save the new recorded tracks as wav files and load them up into FL by
going to "Channel\add One\Audio...
from there you can paint it into the playlist in the bottom window.
If you paint it and you do not see the wav...
then goto the audio tracks channel settings window and un click "keep on disk" this will give you a visual preview of the wav in the playlist.
