Hey there everybody, Not a lot of people seems to be using the mpd24 with logic and im having a hard time finding help for setting it up. Sorry if this question been asked before. Okay, so right when i get the mpd24 out of the box i plug it into my laptop via usb. The pads play the instruments just fine but I cannot assign the transporter buttons. I did the prefrences>command assignment deal and it seems to work but when i press the button (play, rec, stop, etc.)... nothing. Can anybody that knows shed some light on this, thanks in advance.

Hi Dragon03, I believe you just need to select File > Song Settings > Syncronization, and then the MIDI tab.
There should be a tickbox down the bottom of that MIDI page for Listen to MMC input. Make sure thats selected, and you should be in business?
Thanks matt that sovled the problem instantly. Do you mind helping me with another question? Im using the esx sampler in order to build some custom drum kits and using the mpd 24 to trigger. Now is there anyway to assign the drum files to a specific pad. When ever i just load the files and use continguous zones it will load the files on pads 1-9, skip pad 10, and then continue on pad 11. I want to find a way to make sure every pad is used. If anyone can help me with this I would appreciate it.
Hmmm not sure, as I'm not familiar with the esx sampler. Are you able to activate some type of "MIDI learn" mode? This works for some types of software. The general idea is that you activate MIDI Learn, then highlight the chosen pad/knob/fader etc in the program you're using with the mouse, and then hit the pad/key/etc on your midi controller that you want to be linked with it.
