Yeah forget the dell sound driver, if you've got an Edirol FA101, and you have the drivers for THAT installed, you should be fine.
In FLstudio, fo to your audio preferences page, and make sure you have "ASIO Roland/Edirol FA101" (or something like that) selected, rather than "Windows sound mapper" or whatever else...
When you do that, you'll see in the "ASIO Properties" info box beneath it, your latency will drop from 100ms or whatever it is now, to like 5 or 6ms.
Heres a screenshot of me selecting my "M-AUDIO Delta ASIO" which is my equivilent of your FA101...

HOW TRUE IS IT THAT MPD24 IS NOT LIKED BY FRUITY LOOPS.OPPS BY THE WAY THANKS MATT I WILL DO THAT N SEE IF IT ALL WORKS WHEN I GET HOME
MPD works fine with Flstudio (fruity loops).
For example

Heres how he sets it up

Yea that ASIO is the best for latency.
And the best thing for the MPD controller is the Fruity Slicer. You can chop samples & loops automatically and manually, as well as map the note each slice is on, get the tempo of the sample, and timestretching..
And even if you don't have a MPD, the Slicer is good..
There's a tutorial showing how to play every scale with just one scale..
I'll post it when I find it
