LIVE 8 DELAY COMPENSATION

Im wondering if people are having troubles with latency and delay compensation in live 8 when using external midi devices..... and when it is better to have 'delay compensation' turned on or off...and what does adding a negative track delay do?

as im using software for drums and hardware for everything else.. im having trouble getting everything as tight as i would like for live performances..

love to hear if anyone thinks theyve mastered the issue.
