microphone/mixer settings

hi! i need help figuring out the right settings on my mixer so my microphone doesnt have that fuzzy background noise, and gets a clear voice. I have a AKG perception 220, and a Behringer XENYX 802. I rap, but just got a new microphone. Until I got the new one, Ive been using a usb microphone. I cant find help anywhere else, and was wondering if anybody here has some expertise in those specific settings for the hardware i have. Thank you anyone who can offer!!!

Don't know much about the Behringer but i'll check it out. I can tell you that most people that have white noise or fuzzy background noise is because of crapy cables and connections. This goes out to everyone. "STOP BUYING SHITTY CABLES!" Trust me you will save money and your recordings will thank you. Sorry for the rant.
Oh, and I know rapers want to "flow" to the music by recording vocals with the track blaring in the room. Bad idea if you want to eliminate line noise. Turn down the gain on the mic, record at lower volumes, put on some headphones and turn the track up loud. Not only will this help your recording but will give you an edgy performance. (Lower mic setting means you give your phrases more intensity) The beauty of owning a mixer is you can turn up the track later.

i've never used audition to record, i have fl studio, but i hear ableton live is good as well..

and you might have to configure your inputs in audition(line in or microphone inputs) so that it can flow the voice data through audition..

AND THANKS!
