Thanks pimpin'! I studied music theory, but I've been meaning to refresh my memory on the modes and scales, as well as chord progression. I might brush up on my standard bass notation. That helps when doing vocal harmony. All the other books will be a big help as well.

BTW... the practical mixing link gives me a message like "No servers currently have the data you requested" No big d though.
