need help with fruity loops...how to make patterns actual full length songs?

Im new to this site and im a bit stumped with my fruity loops. The problem is i can figure out how to take all the patterns and make them into one, full length song. its rather frustrating as i know that the patterns are only 2 sec a pieace and i went throught a lotta trouble to try and make it into a song but all i get is 2 second long MP3s or Wavs when i try and make them.

SOOO im asking all of you, what do i do to make them into a full length song, i couldnt even begin to tell you where i might have put my instruction booklet as i lost it roughly the second day of having this software (honestly, i think my mom tossed it and didnt notice). All the help i could get would be greatly appreciated, me and a freind are tryin to get our own projects off the ground and this is a MAJOR set back....thank you in advance.

BTW, great site you have here.

If I'm understanding you correctly...You have a pattern thats 2 seconds long? I'm assumeing this is a loop.

Your going to have to take that loop and fill in the squares on the "Playlist" window untill you have the amount of time you want your song to be.
The small numbers at the top of that window represents the BAR count. You'll have to deside how you want to setup your song; as to how many bars you need your loop to run.

After you set that up...then Export as a MP3 file.

Hope this helps!

Yeah press F5 and the window should come up where you arrange that patterns into a song.

The Record button in fruity loops is used for recording automation, so for example if you had a midi keyboard plugged in and set-up it would record the notes as you played them, you would use these notes with a synth/generator, like Steinberg's The Grand.

What rythym are you trying to record? With the MPD pad I'm guessing?

Suppose i select the pattern and i paste that drum loop in the pattern 1 then i press the record button will it record?
I have tried the record button before with my midi keyboard i played correct music but when i listen it was so noisy and unevent like too tooooo

here are the decription what i did.

(1) first i open the Flstudio then i press the F5 button and then i select the drum loop from the left side menu there so many types of drum loops sample. I drag one of them and paste in to pattern number 1 or 2. then i select many others smaple too and drag them to others pattern number.

(2) I press the record button

(3) so how i can decided which pattern played first?

(4) and after that i also open the new templete hip hope or any other

So can you tell me the exact method how to composed in fruity loops

I'd suggest starting off slowly and go through some of the tutorials and sample flp's that come with FL, you can see how samples are loaded into patterns and arranged.

Sorry dude, I'm on the other side of the planet (Australia) and can't use MSN at work.

I think you just need to look at how a song is put together and start slowly and you'll work it out, that's how I learnt how to use FL.

You'll have a better understanding than if I just tried to explain it all from the start.

Hey man just go right under packs and open up projects then short clips and open some of them. It will show you how the went about making thier loops and aranging them. You need to do like illusive said and take it slow. All of those short clips are small songs that were being started. So you can play with what they have layed out and you will get the hang of it. The record button in Fl is like illusive said for automation or live recording. So you can make a loop put some vst's on it then record while you are tweaking knobs.

Hey Bud,it sounds to me as if you have selected pat as opposed to song. When pat is selected it will transfer individual samples into wave or mp3, when song is selected it will transfer the complete track. I hope this is of some help to you. KEEP IT REAL.

you must have it still in pattern mode when you export. you have to select song mode and in the playlist, you must arrange your patterns into a song, however long according to you of course. you can have it fade out or just drop at the end too. once you have your song arranged in the playlist, make sure that FL Studio is in song mode and export it as an mp3.

Ah yes and important note.

Also check out this thread, I've posted some links with sites that have some good tutorials:
