I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem. It's making me crazy and has brought my recording to a screeching halt. I record with Acid Pro 6 but it doesn't seem to matter what program I use. When I am overdubbing a track, it will record the other tracks as well. I don't know what to do about this. Im sure there is a ridiculously simply remedy but... Any advice would be appreciated.

Um....do you have the other tracks inadvertently set to record? Are the tracks re-recording themselves or is the track you are overdubbing being recorded to your other tracks? Make sure you have only the track you are working on highlighted and maybe check your audio preferences from the dropdown menu.

I don't use AcidPro, but maybe I'll be helpful. Why don't you just delete the other tracks? That way, you can record what you want with no problems. And if you need to add something, you can always mix the tracks you want together into one track. Again, I have no previous experience with AcidPro, so what I've said may sound stupid... lol
Well, I always put the percussion track down first, then overdub the other instruments using the percussion to keep time. Problem is, when I would cue up the second track, it would rerecord the percussion. It's alright though. I uninstalled my soundcard and then reinstalled it. That seems to have solved the problem.
Cool....drivers can get corrupted sometimes with a PC. I use both a PC and a Mac and my PCs soundcard is always the one to get squirrelly on me. It happens once to twice a year. I just uninstall and reinstall the drivers which always does the trick.
