Don't know bariga... not familiar with protools myself. What sort of synth is it that you're working with? If I know that, perhaps I can find some info that can help ya

Otherwise hopefully some protools users here will have some suggestions for you too

it's more of a portable keyboard but it's the yamaha psr-e403
it's a small synth with not so many add-ons but still quite useable :)
the mpd on the other hand is perfectly "settetd up" for my uses
and the same pads work on cubase so...

any protool users down here ?

I know Amittai works with Pro Tools - maybe he can help?

Hmm... I don't use many plug-ins where I choose a bank/patch to route it to from within protools... But I do have one. I haven't used it with ProTools 7.4 though because I just upgraded from 7.0. Based on what you're saying the routing must be different in 7.4.

In 7.0 ProTools didn't have an Instrument track option, there were only Audio tracks, Aux tracks, MIDI tracks, and Master tracks. In ProTools, are you hooking up the keyboard with an Aux track and a MIDI track (the way I would have done it in 7.0) or are you using an Instrument track for it?

If I were you I'd try creating an Aux track and putting your synth as an insert on that Aux track.

Then create a midi track and set it's output to the instrument/channel you want to use from your synth. The MIDI data would record to the midi track and the audio will output from the Aux track.

If you've already tried that let me know. I think there are some new midi features in 7.4 that you have to familiarize with in order to make it function how you want. Try reading the manuals for 7.4, especially the parts about midi routing and "instrument" tracks (something I need to do as well).

i created a midi track, than i routed my mpd towards my yamaha portatone (psr-e403)
i've also found out why my mpd wouldn't "function"
you've got to make the midi track recordable

if have also tried your way but the instrument tracks still doesn't let me choose or setup (through msb lsb and pc)
and it gives echo effect.
so i'll guess in 7.4 you won't need the aux channel :)

still i don't know how to switch or setup channels with my
synth.
it seems this yamaha doesn't completly work with the GM standards.
the xglite version does fine in cubase but in pro tools...
makes me doubt a bit about the power of pro-tools.

btw i've tried to open the manual but it gives an error that he can't find it.. i'll google for it tonight :)

still amittai you've helped me out a bit..
if i found out what's the problem
you WILL be able to read it below :)

Sounds like you're getting it figured out... Progress has been made at least. Just keep using it with your projects and eventually you'll figure it all out as you get more accustomed to using it with 7.4.

i'm a foool :d
i can program my mpd pads to pc (msb lsb)
for whatever sound i need to get..
still i'm a bit ashamed i didn't figure it out sooner :)

i'm gonna try this out tonight...
i'll keep you posted though :)
