Recording in a multi-track environment (Guitar Tracks Pro, in my case), I've applied a technique I used working in an analog radio production studio.
You can give your music a larger sound by bouncing the finished mix to an unused track, adding a massive reverb effect ("cathedral" on GTP) to that track and mixing just a little of the track into your final version.
It's subtle, but it adds a professional polish without being obvious.

Cool idea. Don´t you get any phase interferences with that?
I have used a bit of reverb on the master track sometimes to "smoothen" the sound a little.
Can you tell the difference between your version and mine?
You just woke my interest to try this with the drum tracks only...:-) THUNDER !!! :-)

Julian...
You want to keep the level of the reverb track low enough that it's not obvious what you're doing. So any phase problems - which I've never encountered - wouldn't be noticeable anyway.
