How can I import an acapella in reason 3.0? I converted the mp3 to a wav and tried just using that in redrum but it was too long and just faded out. I'm thinking I might just have to pick up recycle. Would I be able to convert a full song-length acapella to a rex file? Thanks in advance for any help and I apologize if this has been asked before. I did search a little bit, but didn't find any help.

Well i found one way but its extremely inconvenient and time consuming - i loaded the wav file into the drop-down on the nnxt and just held the key for the entire duration. That's no good because you have to play the track from the beginning every time to hear it. Hmmm...
no... You're going about it all wrong. I've tried and tried to do what you want to do... The easiest way is to export the track out of reason to a .wav then get you a copy of Virtual DJ 5... (If you need a copy, just e-mail me.) Then you put the acca on one deck and the beat on the other. Mash the sync button on the acca and your pretty much done. After hearing it synced a couple times, you might want to go back and trim the beat to fit the acca.... or visa versa. Here's an example of Virtual DJ... My beat, Pharaoh Monch's words: Simon Says (Capricorn One's SOtB Remix)
VDJ has a great interface and is quite easy to learn to use... I figured out the basics in less than an hour. Reason is just for creating musical compositions... Adding vocals (other than small loops and vox samps) is something that should be done in a recording suite or a specialized piece of software such as VDJ.

Alright thanks, I guess I'll try that. I wish you could just create a channel for audio input - but I suppose that would be too easy. Thanks again
If your system is good enough, you can rewire Reason into FL Studio 8, then use FL as your audio input source and Reason for the beat... Don't ask me how to do it... I'm still trying to get it to work in sync... Someone else might be able to help you though. But VDJ is the way to go. Sometimes using separate programs, each with a specialized task, in conjunction with one and other, is the best way to get top results.

I need to do that. I like the bass I have in reason better than the bass in FL. I guess I haven't found the right VSTi... I have NI Massive and Audio Realism Bass, but massive doesn't have the real bass sound and ARB is like the TB303 in rebirth.

Yea there's sounds in Reason I've been trying to replicate(until I get Reason again) in FL Studio but it just doesn't have that same feel/quality... Reason is a monster for sounds, and I love that Maelstrom..
But right now I'll have to deal with Reaktor 5 with a piece of the library!
And those real instruments definitely sound better from Reason than a VST in FL..

Or just import the wav in a Dr.Rex loop player and have it loop using preview or use the sequencer to trigger the acapella playing. Or get a hold of ReCycle, import the acapell, chop it up the way you like and save as a .rex file. The NN-19 and NN-XT will load every Dr.Rex chop as a different sample, opening up a world of possibilities for effects, partial loops, etc. etc. There's always a lot of different ways to get a result, especially in Reason ;-)
