Hi everyone!!
I’ve been some days now reading your website and I feel that finally I’ve found some people that knows what they are doing, and specially with the Akai MPD24… and yes, it’s what I bought in California from where I’m leaving now, in Canary Island – Spain.
I have read through all post in relation with the MPD24 and I have found out very interesting information but unfortunately I haven´t resolve my actual problem.
My problem is that pads on the FPC software of FL Studio 7 XXL do not correspond with the MPD24. I have tried to set it to MPC2500 as I have read in some of your post but still the same. It doesn´t matter if I change Preset/Empty on the FPC and fill the pads again the result is that Pad 1 in the FPC correspond to Pad 3 on MPD24, Pad 2 in FPC correspond to Pad 5 in MPD25, and etc. If I change channels on the MPD24 the relation between pad changes but never correspond with the one that should be.
Any help or comment will be appreciated.
PS: Any tutorial on FL Studio will be also appreciated.
Thanx

Hey welcome to maketunes Kan.
Hmmm I was going to suggest you check out this guide on setting up flstudio and mpd24, but it sounds like the MPC2500 preset might not have done it for you? Might pay to double check through that guide once more just in case you missed something...
Also, when you select the MPC2500 preset on the MPD24, you are pressing ENTER on the MPD once you've found the right preset with the dial? (By pushing down on the selection dial)
I presume you are, but just thought I'd mention it... its often the simplest things that we overlook :)
Hey Matt,
Thanks for your quick response....
That´s right, sometime simple things are the problem but in this case I have indeed press ENTER on the MPD by pushing down and I have actually going through all preset from BFD till default 13, the only difference is that in few of them the Pads relation correspond with different pads but still unsorted.
Just wonder if it has something to do with Options/setting/MIDI configuration on the FL Studio 7 XXL? On the input section I have the generic controller type set it up as I do not have any controller between my laptop and the MPD24.
By the way, I´ve got a HP Compaq nx7400 Laptop with a SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio running in Windows Vista.
Thanks again.
Ok, I'll install the flstudio demo tomorrow and see if I can figure out whats happening for you with the mpd24 and FPC...
I just decided to quickly download and install the flstudio demo now, and tried it out. It worked fine for me with FPC etc...
All I did was this:
1.Power on MPD24 and select MPC2500 preset
2.Install the FLstudio 7 demo
3.Go to OPTIONS > MIDI SETTINGS
4.Select the USB AUDIO DEVICE (generic controller) and highlight ENABLE
5.Select my 1010LT soundcard (audio tab) - then close options window
6.Select CHANNELS > ADD ONE > FPC
Now whenever I hit Pad1, the Pad1 of FPC plays, Pad2=pad2, etc etc
Perhaps you've accidentally altered your mpd24 MPC2500 preset? Or your default FPC preset? (if thats possible...)
i was going throught he same problem...all i did was start with a empty fpc.....then went through and set my drums to whatever pad i wanted(obviously you have to turn the dial to hear the sound you chose, and then confirm by pressing down on the knob))....but it was really easy.Just make sure their is no other sound set to ur fpc...or they will overlap.....hope that helps
Hi again guys....
Thank you so much for you fast and correct answers; I finally sort it out what was going wrong. I decided to try a very old and popular solution... changes PC. I went to my PC on Windows XP and work it out perfectly as well as my other laptop on Windows XP as well... so I can blame to Windows Vista in first instance possibly on drivers between Vista and MPD24
So... that´s was all... thanx again.
PS: I have found out that the drivers for MPD24 are not on the Akai website, actually I have found impossible to downloaded from anywhere, so I wonder if I could post here the drivers to share with anyone.
