What is MakeTunes?

MakeTunes is a community of mainly home musicians and producers. Some have released albums and toured, while others are just starting out. Some play live rock, while others make beats for their MC friends. From acoustic, to hardcore - we're all about the home studio musicians round here :)

How does MakeTunes "work"?

With your free MakeTunes account you can upload your original music, and get feedback on it, or use it to store your demo tracks for promotion etc. You can also ask questions, give advice, shoot the breeze, in the forums - and post to your own MakeTunes blog. You can also upload photos of your home studio etc.

What are the User Points about?

User Points are our way of rewarding those of you who upload your original songs, participate in the forums, upload your photos - even comments are rewarded, every comment you make about someones music for example. The highest users are displayed on around 10,000 pages that collectively form MakeTunes.

Who runs MakeTunes?

Matt's my name, and MakeTunes is my doing - but now.... its ALIVE! I wanted to setup the basis for a friendly online community of home musicians who could share information, exchange feedback on their original music, and just further their musical interest and know-how. And from its humble beginnings its become what it is today.

Community Help

See something such as commercial music or other content which shouldn't be here? Under every track and comment is a Flag This link. Just hit that and confirm you want to flag it, and I'll look into it. No one can see who's flagged their illegal upload, so you don't need to worry about potentially being abused by the infringer.
