This reminds me of a (true) story I heard a while back, of this guy who was a manic depressive, interested in how things work.

You know how they go through EXTREME mood changes - one day they'll be manic and super excited about everything, and going 100 miles an hour with what they're doing, and the next day they'll be unable to get out of bed and a total write off... well the story went that this guy was manic at the time, and decided to disassemble his entire car into ALL of its individual pieces to see how it all worked. He was super enthusiastic about it all, and meticulously laid out every single component on the floor in order, so he could retrace his steps perfectly and rebuild his car in perfect working order...... he got it pretty much entirely disassembled, and then went to bed.

Then the next day he wakes up in a deep depression, goes into his workshop, and in a fit of hopelessness and dejection, hurls all the parts into a corner in an "ahhhh whats the point!" moment!

The car was never reassembled.

Not that I'm in any way likening you to him ;) Just seeing a disassembled laptop made me think of the story :)
